In 2022, Vietnam exported nearly 16 billion USD of wood products. Vietnam is known as a leading furniture producer in Southeast Asia with the participation of more than 2,600 Vietnamese wood enterprises and wood enterprises from other countries in the region that build production factories in Vietnam. Vietnam’s furniture products have been present in more than 120 countries and territories with interior and exterior products that are diverse in designs and styles such as classic style, rustic style, contemporary style… Common furniture products include dining tables, sofas, coffee tables, beds, cabinets,… while the main exterior products are armchairs, rocking chairs, coffee tables, sun loungers, swings…The US, Japan, EU, China and South Korea are the 5 largest import markets for Vietnam’s wood products, followed by markets such as Australia, Canada, and the UK.
Vietnam is a country that has wide partnership with many countries around the world, with many trade agreements signed to create maximum conditions for importers to buy goods from Vietnam. In the export strategy of the wood industry, Vietnam focuses on developing wood material areas that meet the criteria of sustainable forest management such as FSC, PEFC, etc., in addition to materials imported from countries with certificates of sustainable forest management. Vietnamese furniture enterprises are also constantly innovating to meet the increasing requirements of the international market.
