Though still in its infancy years, the Lifestyle Vietnam trade show continues to grow, both in number of exhibitors and visitors. After six years it has established itself as a must-see fair for exporters that are interested to source from Vietnam. In 2015 we expect to welcome about 500 exhibiting companies occupying over 1,000 booths from Vietnam and countries in the region including Indonesia, Cambodia, Laos and Myanmar. The supply capacity of the exhibitors ranges from USD300,000 to USD 35 million/year. Compared to last year, there will increasingly be more suppliers in the high-end segment.
As last year, Lifestyle Vietnam will continue to focus on sustainable design. Many Vietnamese exporters are using recycled or renewable materials, others have improved on working conditions in their factory. Many are saving costs by reducing the energy-use or amount of material or water in their production process, while others are reducing the transport volume of their goods through clever collapsible or knock-down product design.
At Lifestyle Vietnam you will find the entries of Vietcraft’s sustainable product design competition on display. The Competition encourages designers, companies and artisans to develop sustainable products in 6 product categories: Home Décor and Handicrafts, Indoor and Outdoor Furniture, Home textiles and embroidery, Gifts & Ethnic items, Personal Accessories and Toys. Please come to review the entries and cast your vote!
While China’s labour cost are rapidly rising, Vietnam continues to benefit from a large and relatively cheap young labour force. Combined with abundant availability of raw material, Vietnam increasingly becomes an attractive sourcing destination. Moreover, when Free Trade Agreements with Japan, US, Mexico (under negotiation at present) come into force and, as a result, import duties are eliminated, Vietnam will become even more competitive.
The Lifestyle Vietnam trade show is the perfect stop-over on your way to the Canton fair, with its home décor and gifts fair starting on the 23th of April 2015. Your starting point for your sourcing trip in Asia!
